Hi,
We've had a great bank holiday walking and painting. I love the opportunity to paint on a large canvas with large brushes and to be expressive.
This work has been completed over several weeks by applying successive washes of thin paint, sometimes letting them dry in between. This allows you to intensify the colour areas to make the paint 'glow'.. I like to do this with reds and blues in particular.
I love the combination in this work of the purple/maroon areas with the vibrant orange/reds of the large areas.

The effect is to create a sublime, almost stone henge effect, which captures the viewers eye, whether viewed close or far away,
