A smaller version of Crimson and Ochre Trees 1.
Inspired by the landscapes of Constable, especially the skies which were created with a spatula. Left to dry and then I created the trees with various brushes. I worked quickly and the painting took two days. I used the juxtaposition of composite colours, red on blue, white on red etc to make it as vibrant as I could. It could even be called surreal.
40 by 50 cm. Oils on framed canvas.
