Original artwork description:

This painting is part of a new series of 12 x 12 inch landscape paintings I'm doing on 2 inch deep wood panels. These paintings are inspired by time I've spent exploring the Smoky Mountains around Asheville North Carolina. My intention is to interpret the landscape with paint in an expressive and bold fashion. I try to keep my brushwork loose yet representational, and to push the boundaries of color in an effort to create a painting that is intense yet tranquil.

Materials used:

acrylic paint
