Original artwork description:

‘Ohana’ is a wonderful Hawaiian term for family, for being bound together with a need to cooperate, to be responsible for and to remember one another. It is the perfect sentiment for this work - 'the Most Charming Creatures', inspired by the lives of the marine creatures that generate most of the air we breathe and the need for us to remeMber them and take better care of their home, our oceans.
The glass creatures are composed of many small pieces of murrini and are blown into the shapes, each unique but similar, as family. The stand on bases of fossilised limestone – on the shoulders of their ancestors.

Materials used:

glass, stone
