Original artwork description:

The most northerly point of mainland Ireland is Malin Head on the wind-swept Inishowen Peninsula, Donegal. The area is unspoilt with only a few holiday cottages and farms scattered across the landscape. Growing up in Britain I am very familiar with the name Malin Head from the Shipping Broadcast which is on the national radio stattion, BBC Radio 4. These forcasts date back 150 years (no the radio ones they started in 1925) and are produced by the Met Office on behalf of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. You can see the military watchtower that was built on Altnadarrow in 1805, during the Napoleonic Wars. Scenes from Star Wars: The Last Jedi were also filmed in Malin Head.

ORIGINAL ART BY Emma Cownie – Finest quality acrylic painting on linen canvas, varnished – Only the highest quality archival fine acrylic paints are used on the surface. The surface has been treated with varnish, to protect the painting.

READY TO HANG – Edges of the canvas are painted so the Art is ready to hang without a frame if required. Enquire about framing options.
