Craig Goch is the top dam in the series in the Elan Valley. This print is based on a photograph taken whilst the dam was overtopping. The beautiful Elan Valley lies in the heart of mid-Wales. The dams were built at the end of the 19th Century to supply water to Birmingham via a 75 mile-long gravity fed aqueduct.

This is a reduction linocut, where the block is successively printed and recut, inked and printed for each layer - a process which results in its gradual destruction.
