Original artwork description:

Painted plein air style, on-site at the Crabapple Collection of the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. Features a crabapple tree with richly colored fuschia blossoms, surrounded by additional pink and white crabapples, and framed by evergreen treetops at the top left. The sky is blue with touches of violet, white clouds, and touches of yellow sunlight. The running, watery effects in the sky were created with casein paint and glazed over with oil. The shape of the blossoms is enhanced by the use of thickly textured oil paint, applied with both palette knife and brush. The painting catches a glimpse of a scene in constant transition, as light and clouds move across the sky, blossoms fade, and new blossoms open. The canvas is stretched on 1" stretcher bars with painted sides. It is ready to hang as is, or will fit easily into a frame.
