Original artwork description:

This pastel artwork is large and is framed and ready to hang. I was interested in the shape of the crab on the blue pattered plate with the vertical lines of the cloth. I added the candle and red peppers and worked hard on the composition. The end result was very pleasing to me as it was quite a challenge to get it right. The white cloth showed up the red sweet chillies, and red peppers. I also added the blue background which I felt had the right balance of colour. Pastel is one of my favourite mediums especially for still life. My still life pastels are shown in the prestigious London Mall gallery with the Society of Women's annual exhibition. I am a member and have been for several years.
