For me, this is a special picture, I love it very much. It was the first big picture that I decided on.
By creating it, I wanted to reflect my vision of the restoration of Ukraine after the victory in the war.
The work is done in the style of Petrykivka painting, which is rich in symbolism. For example:
- Birds, as a symbol of freedom and will, I used as a metaphor for the people of Ukraine. Freedom is as important for Ukraine as it is for birds.
- A couple of birds are our values such as: love, family, support, respect for each other and for the native land.
- Lush flowers are the hope for peace, for the continuation of life, for the prosperity of the nation.
- The heart in which Ukraine is embroidered represents our national self-identification.
Watercolor paper 280g/m, 59*82 cm. Gouache, watercolor and shimmering paints.
This work took part in an exhibition at the National Art Museum of Folk Art in Kyiv, Ukraine. This work was also part of the exhibition presented in Germany and Italy. Was sold at a charity auction
