This image is a monotype print/ painting of a couple. The image was created as a painting using waterbased printing ink and pressed through a printing press onto wet Rosapina Fabriano paper.
The wetness of the paper was deliberately wetter than usual, creating an image that has the appearance of a watercolour painting, making apparent the blurring/ blending of the two figures, blending the colours from each of the figures into one another, as though both merging into one form, yet retaining a clear sense of their individuality too.
These monotype prints explore past ideas on the blending and blurring of imagery first explored during my time studying at Falmouth University.
