Just in case you haven't met Veronica before she is my alter ego who was born when I was practising oil painting and saw that all the people teaching it on You Tube painted nothing but young beautiful women which at first I tried to paint but being a miserable menopausal 50 something I found it hard to relate to these beautiful young things so after stumbling across a French photographers photos of her elderly mother which were both delightful and amusing I was inspired to paint Veronica an elderly confident women who isn't afraid of anything or anyone and is living her best life.
So life in the country to some people might mean a chance to keep chickens and maybe a goat or two, at least it does to Veronica and she is embracing country living and all the new friends she is making.
Country Life has been painted on a W18 x H24 inch canvas using inks, crayons, pastels, acrylic paint and pencils I started this piece in an absrtact way helping me to loosen up and be free with my mark making. If you look carefully you can see glimpses of interest especially in Veronica's jumper.
This artwork has been sealed with sating varnish and is ready to hang.
