Original artwork description:

Tiree is well known for its "Black Houses" - little cottages with thick walls and tiny windows set in to the depth of the stonework making the interior of the house very dark. At one time they were built for people and animals alike but in modern times they have mostly been renovated to create holiday homes although there is a lot of the original features retained on the outside. This is a painting of two such houses near Balevullin beach. the composition is continued on the edges allowing it to be hung without a frame if preferred.

Materials used:

stretched canvas. acrylic paint
