This small watercolour was made from a sketch I made last summer on a walk along the River Alde from Snape Maltings (on the horizon). Snape is home of the world famous Benjamin Britten Concert Hall and the scene shows the river at high tide. The little cottage is tucked away behind in some woods has a rather short landing stage. The peace and openness of the scene together with the reed beds in from of the concert hall swaying in the breeze really attracted me to capture the scene in paint.
Windsor & Newton artist quality watercolours; Cobolt Blue, Light Red, Raw Sienna on Bockingford 200lb paper.
