'Corrosion' is one of an experimental group of paintings I did involving glueing loose canvas on to a stretched canvas in patterns that sprang in to my mind at that moment. From a distance these paintings deceive the eye as one does not quite know if one is looking at a 2d or 3d image. I enjoyed this process of playing with the surface of the canvas and it reinvigorated my 2d painting afterwards. I called this painting 'Corrosion' because I used some metallic paint to highlight certain areas which made it look somewhat rusty.
