The view of the upstairs landing of my house in Forest Gate north east London, from the back room studio, shortly after I had moved in. It had the most painterly quality, though slightly hellish on a dark night. The old lath and plaster walls were all coming apart. Carpets were largely removed with the exception of a few bits on the stairs!
