Original artwork description:

An original Pencil drawing by Paul Stowe - a Common Garden Snail in Pencil - that's it, just a Snail in Pencil, nothing more, nothing less - Or is it - some key facts about garden snails :)

They are notoriously slow with an average speed of somewhere around 0.03miles per hour
They have around 14000 teeth that are arranged in rows along their tongues.
Garden snails are hermaphrodites, in that they have both male and female reproductive organs.
In the wild they live on average for 2 to 3 years but there are report of them living for much longer in captivity, from 5 to 15 years of age.

Drawn as always on smooth Bristol Board with Faber Castell 9000 series pencils and a Tomo Zero eraser - size for this drawing was c26cm X 40cm

Following a 20 year Hiatus Paul picked up his pencils again and started drawing back in 2012. Turning professional in 2016 Paul has won accolades across the globe, initially exhibiting and selling work in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand he now resides in the centre for contemporary British Art and the Tate Modern Gallery, St. Ives, cornwall.
From his open studio and commercial gallery in the town he spends hours, weeks and months drawing incredibly detailed images inspired by the plethora of artists and art in the local area.
His work is on permanent display in the stowe gallery in St. Ives and with individual and corporate collections across the world.

The drawing is being sold unframed to reduce shipping costs - however I can offer a bespoke framing service as required - just send me a message to discuss.

*Images showing the drawing in a frame and in various room settings are for illustration purposes only.
