Convergence follows my continuing exploration of geometric, hard edge painting.
The vast vocabulary of modern abstract art from the early 1900s to today, is always whirling inside of my brain. This painting starts as a drawn graphite grid which is then manipulated by spontaneous decisions concerning the amount of space between lines and what would happen when certain vertical shifts occur and what kind of composition arises.
I've used such varying colors of powder blue, greens, orange, red, grey, and magenta among others. The painting is signed and titled on the back and the sides of the painting are white with the colors just slightly overlapping the edges, producing
a crisp and clean look. Ready to hang.
