This painting is based on a photograph. The blue heron was standing in shallow water in an inlet and the light hit him just perfectly to cast his reflection into the green water. Herons are seen as symbols of deep thought and contemplation; thus the name of this work.

Acrylic on wood panel with satin varnish. Framed in a weathered barn wood frame.
