Original artwork description:

This Charcoal self portrait from 2006 was drawn on paper from life looking down into a small mirror. I chose this angled pose because it created contrasts between the light and dark areas of my face. I used a charcoal pencil and cross hatching to build up the dark areas and shapes. The title was chosen afterwards due to the expression on my face and I also think it fits with the time taken and the act of self contemplation involved in drawing yourself.
