It is known that the Slavs inherited namitka (Slavic folk scarf) from their distant Indo-Aryan ancestors. This kind of tying cloth on the head meant that the woman was married.
The canvas depicts a young girl who is intently looking into the distance or into the future. It feels like she knows more about life than everyone else. Her eyes are filled with wisdom and life experience. Her smile speaks of calmness and pacification. She observes the life story of each person passing by.
