I always want to paint something I believe in, something that means a lot to me. For this piece I was inspired by my love for animals. I tried to show people's relationship with animals as I see it. We love and take care of one group of animals, but we kill animals from other group so that we can eat or 'wear' them. It seems like a long time ago someone decided which animals we pet and which ones we eat or use in some other horrible ways. That kind of behaviour became a tradition. We lost the connection between the animal we look after and a piece of meat in our plate we eat. For me all animals are the same - they all have got eyes to see, ears to hear, nose to smell and heart to beat - same as us - humans. With my painting I want to make people think and reconnect.
I tried to express my passion for this subject by using lots of bright colours. Dynamic lines also helped me to create a very vibrant view I was aiming for.
It's a light textured original acrylic painting on canvas (60 x 80 x 1.5). Painting is painted around the edges, giving it a contemporary look and is ready to hang.
