Any child or adult who lives or lived in Britain will remember the delight of hunting for conkers during September/October. These Horse chestnuts provided hours of enjoyment in playgrounds around the land.
Even now as an adult I enjoy looking for conkers they are so tactile. Placed on the table they provided a perfect still life subject the Autumn leaves providing a complementary background to the rich deep red colours of the conkers.
