Starting point for this the painting was the urge to experiment with natural denaturation of flowers. Finished painting was not a consequence of deliberate, controlled experiment, but the natural consequence of mode of expression ruled entirely by intuitive, unconscious impulses. Therefore flowers… became ‘Composition with Flamingo’.
