The “Companion-Icon” is a one-of-a-kind piece of art - a modern interpretation of a wooden icon.

This piece belongs to a fresh new series of Companion Icons - just in time for 2018.

The process of creation requires multiple layers and techniques.

The motif is a multi layered collage of my paper works, which I arranged in a kaleidoscopic way using an intentionally imperfect symmetry to drag the observer into the patterns to explore the codes and meanings of each piece.

The starting point is a hand-made print on wood (transfer), on which I draw and paint. 100% handcrafted - 100% unique art & heart.

I worked with vinyl colors and acrylic colors. Moreover I enhanced the work with thin leaves of real gold to let it catch light and attention even in the smallest corner.

The “Companion-Icon” is sure to be an artistic eye catcher, but there is also more to it:
As the Motif slowly unfolds, it creates an individual resonance that is specific to the observer. Therefore, the choice of “Companion-Icon” alone becomes highly relevant as the Motifs bear different animal characters.
