Original artwork description:

Colours of Winter, Wiltshire
Moorland and pasture,
Duck egg blue sky,
Pale pink and purple hue,
Woodland , bracken, gorse and grasses,
Relaxing walk.

Words and feelings of a local scene on the border of North Dorset into West Wiltshire.
Original impressionist watercolour on rough textured watercolour paper bockingford 300gsm 140lb. I often walk my dog along the Wincombe park footpath where I live on the outskirts of Shaftesbury. There is beautiful organic fields, Wincombe woods and so much wildlife. Inspiration is so abundant and so many uplifting colours.
I used a four colour technique and created over the wet on wet washes a tree line while the paper is wet. I gradually built up the dense colours for the backdrop and then soft sweeps of different greens for the pastoral land. The foreground for the low hedgerow took shape by pressing, dragging and etching the paint out with my nail.

Materials used:

Rough textured watercolour paper acid free bockingford 300gsm 140lb, Pebeo watercolours, sable hair brush, Chinese hake, filbert brush, Chinese brush,
