An eye of a great, monumental creature is staring at you… but it doesn’t feel dangerous. The colors are so bright and warm and inviting. Yak is a benevolent, peaceful, herbivorous animal who provides to the human in many ways.

This painting is an ode to the usefulness of animals who give to people an enormous quantity of goods. For example in Nepal or Tibet, local inhabitants use the wool of Yaks to create warm and colored carpets. I have depicted the Yak with his body covered with a design of a traditional Nepali carpet to remind us where the precious product comes from.
