Original artwork description:

A woman stands calm, receiving blessings in gold and inspiration in rich colour.
Her abundant hair flies and flows with the rich colours the spectrum; rainbow shades which spiral down around her body.
Her hands cup the golden blessings and channel them to her heart and her belly.
Her toes are tiny gold droplets and some of the drops of gold have blossomed into flowers.

Painted in Winsor & Newton watercolour, Derwent Inktense watercolour and Winsor & Newton gold gouache ... on handmade Indian Khadi paper, then finished with a few spots of chalk pastel.

The beautiful soft blue/grey shade of the paper forms the background colour of the image.

Two of the photographs show the image at its early stages: I'd not planned for it to contain gold, or even the rainbow colours in her hair, but the way I work, I tend to let the image take on its own progression.
I've also shown it in my hallway and on my mantlepiece to give an idea of its size in a room.
The lovey deckle edge of the paper may be made a feature of at the time of framing - ask your framer to "float" the image instead of covering the edge with a mount/mat ...but please note that an artwork must be kept from touching the glass.

Khadi handmade is an acid-free cotton rag paper from India - a medium weight 210 gsm paper with a pretty deckled edge.
