Original artwork description:

The collared dove, sometimes named the 'Turkish Dove' is the crisply dressed and better loved bourgeois cousin of the common pigeon.

It is simply bursting with subtle lavenders, pastel pinks and delicate blues, making painting it a very serene seance of creation.

Being found in a lot of Europe and Asia, you've probably seen one of these soft-coloured, collared birds shuffling around your garden or local park. I for one will be keeping a weather eye for my next sighting, just to say thanks for sitting so well for the portrait.

A4 acrylic, pencil and ink on 250gsm paper.

Materials used:

Acrylic and pencil
