Coleridge Rock has been painted using tempera watercolour paint. The image explores colour combinations and brings another quality to the black and white zinc print of this still life rock.
The rock was collected from Watchet and drawn from observing directly onto the zinc plate, recording how one interprets the object through the passage of time, recording the various shadows, lines and marks in the crosshatched technique. Colours have been added one layer at a time, with each layer washed back a little, before adding the next layer of colour.
This image is printed on Rosapina Fabriano and mount framed in antique white, sealed in a polybag to protect the print/ painting.
