Original artwork description:

THE MUG INVENTED

I usually paint what I see, I often find the subject among my things or among the many images on the internet.

This time I made it all up.

In my studio I had a support to paint with a ready-made base colored in antique pink that I had prepared a long time ago for another series of works, I had never used it because it was too small, but this time I really needed that tablet.

I didn't know which subject to use as a model so I poked around in my cups, among the images downloaded from the internet, but nothing seemed right for that support to paint.

After several attempts I stopped for a moment, closed my eyes and thought about what I saw in that support to paint.
Letting myself be carried away by my imagination, I imagined a small milky white cup, embellished with small golden embroidery and defenseless in the act of falling to the ground and irreparably breaking.
I quickly traced the drawing with chalk and then I began to paint with the oil colors that I use by overlapping many thin layers of suitably diluted color to create the effects I want.

This work is part of the series COGLI L'ATTIMO and is 34, with this series I try to tackle the theme of not wasting time, enjoying every moment that life gives us, before it's too late.

The work is signed on the front and back and will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity

for non-EU shipments, it is necessary to wait for authorization from the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and this could lead to a delay of a few days
