COGLI L'ATTIMO 15
oil painting on canvas
40x80 cm
year 2021
When an object is no longer needed for its intended use, it is thrown away .. generally.
I like to think that an object can have another chance, perhaps changing its destination, adding and giving it a new life!
This canvas was cut on the side, I was about to throw it away years ago, in fact at that time I didn't even use the canvases but I preferred to use wooden supports,
I take great care in finding the best materials for my works to present to my collectors or at exhibitions and it is a fundamental aspect for me, I am very rigorous in this!
But I didn't throw it away, I placed it there ... and thanks to my disorder it remained in that corner of my studio hidden among the other canvases.
Then last month I saw it and I liked its size and I liked the idea of giving it back life, not wasting it.
So I tried to mend it and I wanted to create some scars, I wanted the wound to be seen ...
this is because the theme I am addressing is precisely this, seize the moment, enjoy all the things that life offers us, even the wounds, because they remind us of the pain experienced.
For this work I chose a subject of a teapot finely embellished with gold-colored embroidery to create a contrast with the roughly stitched back canvas to remind us that life can be precious even after pain.
this painting is the 15th of this series is painted with the oil color technique on canvas, its size is 40x80 cm
I finished painting the work in April.
The work is conceived without frame, it will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity
for non-EU shipments, it is necessary to wait for authorization from the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and this could lead to a delay of a few days
