Cocoon - Stage 1, rebirth, liberation, detangling.
This is the third painting of a series of 3, which explore transformation, growth and development from a female perspective. I used ribbons, a traditionally feminine accessory, to create an empowered female figure, one who is no longer restricted by ties.

Painted with a palette knife, the thick layers of artist quality paint create a characteristic impasto effect.
