Cocoon - Stage 2, transformation.
This is the second painting of a series of 3, which explore transformation, growth and development from a female perspective. I used ribbons, a traditionally feminine accessory, to create a confining three dimensional environment, as means to pull the figure in different directions (symbolising confusion) as well as to put the figure in control as she figures out the space, i.e. she's also pulling the strings as she gains control of her environment.
