Original artwork description:

Portrait of a Mercury the Cat painted on a book page. the page measures 3.75 inches by 6 inches.

Backstory: I found a feral kitten on Friday 13th, and then found two more two days later. I did a painting for each one. My husband had been hearing a kitten all morning crying, we'd go outside and look and nothing. It kept up, and finally, I went outside and stood and listened and realized the crying was coming from my gutter - she'd run up inside and gotten stuck. I finally got her out, and she's cockeyed with her eyes pointing in different directions, but she seems to see just fine. Her brother and sister have a good home to go to when they are old enough, and I am keeping Mercury. (so named because she is a fast-moving mass that's a little gaseous).

Materials used:

vintage book page and acrylic paint
