Original artwork description:

Unlike the majority of my artworks, which are composed of organic-wise textures, this series is inspired by the ancient cobblestones streets of Rome, the city I live in.
This diptych is created by placing low parallelepipeds of various thickness and size atop a wood board.
Afterward, several coats of epoxy resin are used to coat the squares, round the edges and welding the piece, then the textured surface is gilded with metal leaf (imitation silver).
The leaf was then aged with jewish bitumen to obtain a warm, lived-in look.
The dark bitumen collected in the recesses enhances the relief.
Two final coats of varnish protect the artwork and prevents oxidation.
