Hi, this work is a semi abstract seascape painted on a large canvas. it is inspired by the autumn views of the Solent from Portsdown Hill.
The surface is applied in a series of soakings and washes onto un-primed canvas.
Painting this way allows the different layers of paint to ooze into the material and create depth and drama.
This work allows you to stare at for hours and lose yourself in the depths and complexity of the scene,
