Original artwork description:

One of an on-going series of works exploring the theme of surveillance and control, inspired by RFID chips which are used to track merchandise and control behaviour. The microchips are usually attached to books and CDs to prevent theft and take the form of circuits which interact with electronic detectors. Sometimes they are sewn inside garments so that the shop-owner can track your shopping preferences/customer loyalty. The paintings hover between literal representations and abstract geometrical imagery. First exhibited at the Galerie Nová Sín, Prague and subsequently at the Galerie Cerná Linká, Brno, CZ. Catalogue available, with text by Tereza Petisková, Director of the House of Art, Brno,

Materials used:

Oil on cotton canvas, acrylic primer
