I have been thinking a lot about the question: why do I paint? Why am I attracted to the landscape? I feel that I find solace in nature. The only way for me to push back against the darkness and the turmoil is to create beauty - to bring more beauty into the world, and to lift up the beauty of the natural world.
So here we have a sunset - one of the most awe-inspiring gifts that we are given each and every day. This one is stopped in time, immortalized.
