A few blades of white light cut perpendicularly across the path. In the sky a cloud runs with the wind and seems to project itself onto the ground.
This painting belongs to the series on paths, the main theme of my pictorial poetics.
The path is perceived as a journey through life and a mirror of oneself, with stories left behind and goals to be reached in the distance.
The light and serenity that I have tried to convey in this painting can be read as a wish for a happy and untroubled journey through life.
This painting was created in the studio in December 2022. It is a reworking of several en plein air studies.
The work is painted in oil on Masonite, a panela panel of compressed wood fibre. Masonite is a material that was widely used by artists in the first half of the 20th century as a support for their paintings because it is extremely strong and non-deformable. I love painting on this material because its very smooth surface allows me to achieve effects that cannot be achieved on other materials. I also have the guarantee of high durability.
The signature is on the lower right.
The painting is protected by a layer of satin acrylic varnish.
The work comes with a thin wooden frame in natural colour to protect the edges. It is ready to hang.
The work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
"Clouds and blades of light" is the literal translation of the original Italian title "Nuvole e lame di luce".
