I love using watercolours for the delicate translucency of butterfly wings and flower petals. The Clouded Yellow butterfly migrates to the UK from North Africa and Southern Europe in May. It prefers open habitats, particularly chalk grassland, and it loves the thistle-like flowers of purple knapweed.

This watercolour is painted on 250gsm cartridge paper. It will fit any 8 x 10 inch frame.
