Original artwork description:

This is a small plen aire oil painting done on gessoed paper in preparation for my larger cloud paintings that were created in-studio. When the clouds look like this, there is usually wind; which can make painting on-site quite a challenge. This energy shows up in the finished piece, though. I believe my plen aire pieces have a freshness and immediacy to them that is hard to capture in the more comfortable and controlled setting of my studio.
