Original artwork description:

Another still life with meaning.
What associations do you make when you look at this uncomplicated subject? In spite of the joyful coloring it is about old age. About loneliness. A life lived in vain.
When your whole life fits on one decrepit chair in the form of old newspapers that no one needs. Even the mice aren't much interested in it. No one needs it.
But I didn't start with color for nothing. And for me it is above all hope. The hope that, besides a stack of newspapers, this man left something else behind. Kindness, tenderness, love, memory. A good person leaves behind an invisible trail that can only be expressed through color.
The color of hope.
