Original artwork description:

One cold grey day in London recently I was flipping through a magazine when a tiny photo (no more than 7x7cm) caught my eye. It was of a Mozambiquan dhow sailing through turquoise waters. My mind’s eye was sucked into that scene and I imagined myself standing on a white beach watching the approaching dhow. I wanted to escape further and made two big paintings to immerse myself into that sunny paradise. Sometimes when the sky is full of grey clouds I tell myself that a short distance beyond them is clear blue sky. With a little imagination we can transport ourselves to other worlds and sunnier climes.
