Original artwork description:

With climate mountain flow II, the artist transforms Ed Hawkins' climate stripes into a three-dimensional, tangible form. This work visualizes the temperature development in Innsbruck (AT) from 1777 to 2022 and consists of 246 hand-painted linden wood slats.

The color gradients reflect the historical shift: cool blue tones dominate the early years, gradually transitioning into warmer reds—an urgent visual reminder of climate change. The arrangement of the slats resembles a mountain silhouette, merging the aesthetics of nature with the pressing reality of global temperature rise.

"It is important to me to raise awareness of this global and complex issue. Every individual can make a difference—by embracing mindfulness and adopting a more conscious approach to our resources. In a consumer-driven society, we should ask ourselves more often whether we truly need all the material things that surround us."

This artwork invites reflection—not only on climate change but also on our responsibility as a society and as individuals.
