This Oil Pastel on Brown Paper drawing is one of a series of drawings that were done during our trip to Palau. It was drawn “en plein air” on our last day before we left. It is a view of one small part of the coastline of the Unesco World Heritage site of the Rock Islands drawn on a hot and sunny afternoon. This national park is breathtakingly beautiful and every part offers stunning views. There are a lot of mysterious mangroves and thousands of these jagged rock islands covered in tropical foliage, all different shapes and sizes appearing to rise out of the ocean like magic.
I really liked the changing colours of the Ocean and the beautiful Palm Tree on the top of the cliff in this view as well as the mysterious Cave half way up the side. I imagined people seeking shelter in there in the past! I love the colour of the water in this part of the world and the shimmering reflections were fun to try to capture.
A note to International Buyers:
Shipping rates have increased in price all around the world due to Covid and other complications. Due to this I have had to increase the the cost of shipping my artworks in line with the Delivery Companies. I will always strive to find the cheapest possible option for the customer (usually my local POST OFFICE EMS Recorded Delivery, but unfortunately they don’t deliver worldwide at the moment) If the amount of shipping charged at purchase is less than the shipping company charges then I will refund the difference to the customer. This refund will be done after the picture has arrived safely and has been accepted.
Any import duties, taxes and charges that may be payable are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges, if applicable, will be the responsibility of the buyer. Please message me to check if this might affect your purchase.
