Original artwork description:

My work has always been heavily influenced by French country living and I'm lucky enough to spend time there painting. This little piece was completed in the kitchen of an old Charentaise farmhouse during the winter when the clementines were a welcome splash of colour. The little vase was a brocante find and the blue a perfect compliment for the orage. Painted largely with a palette knife, with a smidgeon of texture, this little piece gives a traditional still life composition a contemporary vibe.

Painted in oils on canvas board. It is signed on the back.
