A painting study of Cleeve Common; the largest common in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is also the highest point on the Cotswolds at 330m. I wanted to record the breaking rain clouds over the expanse of the area on a very cold winters day. To reflect the raw elemental forces I intentionally left areas of the canvas board unpainted (these are the textured brown areas).
