In this piece, I wanted to explore the play of light and shadow on everyday objects, focusing on the fresh simplicity of lemons. Using Payne's Grey in a grisaille technique, I removed the usual vibrant colors of the fruit, allowing the viewer to see the beauty in form and contrast. The sharp edges of the lemon slices paired with soft shadows create a sense of calmness, while the seeds scattered below add a touch of imperfection, making the scene feel grounded in reality. It's a quiet moment, captured in cool tones, that invites reflection on the details we often overlook.
