I made this piece seven years ago now, wow doesn't time fly! I was lying on the sand at the beach on a beautiful sunny day looking at the sky watching a circling flock of seagulls and hoping they weren't going to dive bomb me! When I returned home I began to make this mosaic. It was so important to me to make the birds fit within the same "andamento" of the sky, that is the same rhythm the smalti is flowing. In this way I could illustrate the unity of the birds and the sky.
