Cigarette Portrait no. 3 - Mixed Technique with enamels on canvas - cm. 50x100
The series inspired by the portrait and the smoking woman continues, these are female portraits lit up by full colours and made vibrant by a series of pictorial interventions. Action Painting, drips, visual disturbances, combined with the beauty and instinctive power of expressionism make these female faces not just portraits but archetypes, i.e. exemplars, models of what contemporary femininity is today, which I recount not only according to current aesthetic canons, but also by carrying out psychological research. It is the search for one's own identity, which leads to true self-knowledge.
In this painting, the face of a woman smoking, set in a space completely flooded with fluid colours. I have left some details, purely photographic details, such as the cigarette and the mouth, as is my custom.
This collection is inspired by the woman who smokes, and the sensual attitude that only she knows or can assume. The women I portray, are almost always in attitudes of personal satisfaction, confident, free from the conditioning of contemporary society. Authentic work executed by me in a single copy.
